Quiz results

Sometime ago I promised to do the HP Sorting Hat quiz. So I did.
"You scored as Ravenclaw. You value intelligence, knowledge, and wit."
Ravenclaw 78%
Gryffindor 68%
Hufflepuff 65%
Slytherin 43%
HP Sorting Hat
created with QuizFarm.com

I decided to check those results with a different HP House quiz.
"You scored as Ravenclaw. You are Ravenclaw."
Ravenclaw 83%
Slytherin 63% [Now that is interesting!]
Griffindor 63%
Hufflepuff 38%

Then I tried another one.
"You scored as Ravenclaw. You belong in Ravenclaw! Congratulations! You're most likely a bookworm, you're very smart, and you probably like to learn."
Ravenclaw 95%
Gryffindor 75%
Hufflepuff 55%
Slytherin 5%

Just to verify I tried another one.
"You scored as Ravenclaw. You are Ravenclaw, you and your peers are highly intelligent, and a little pompous. You do not like ignorant people but can tolerate them for a short time. You will join the Ravenclaw Elite along side Cho Chang, and Luna Luvgood."
Ravenclaw 83%
Hufflepuff 83%
Gryffindor 75%
Slytherin 17%

And another one.
"You scored as Ravenclaw. You are of Ravenclaw. You like people and they like you, you are clever and wise and people enjoy having you for a friend because you are good to them."
Ravenclaw 94%
Hufflepuff 75%
Gryffindor 56%
Slytherin 31%

So I guess it's safe to say that I belong in Ravenclaw.

A Visitor!

I was so surprised and very much tickled pink when I received a call from a seldom seen friend. She was on a business trip to my area and wanted to know if The Geek and I had time to go out to dinner with her. Of course. A nice chat over dinner with her was enough to get me to leave the security of my home. Not much else does, that's for sure. We had a great time and made the waiter work for his tip. I hope she gets to visit down here again.

Being a Girl

“When men say I'm sweet as candy
As around in a dance we whirl,
It goes to my head like brandy,
I enjoy being a girl!” *

Oscar Hammerstein was full of shit. Until I looked up the lyrics, I only suspected that the songwriter was a man. I should have known. Ole Oscar never had cramps so bad they put you in bed, or hormone surges that left you channeling Linda Blair in the Exorcist. Or night sweats that wake you up at 3am cause your PJs are sopping wet and you are now freezing cold and slimey. What a raw deal. Ten more years of this and somebody is liable to get hurt! Poor Fozzie.

But in other news, things are going well. Went to TN to celebrate my Mamaw’s 101st birthday!!!!!

The old gal continues to amaze us all. She walked into the party on a walker, had not 1 but 2 bowls of chili, as well as coffee and cake. After talking with my Mom, I realized that the first time Mamaw went white-water rafting on the Ocoee River was when she was 75 or 80 years old! For those who don’t know, the Ocoee River has world class rapids—they held the Atlanta Olympic events there. I was never interested in rafting them as a young woman and I sure as hell can’t imagine doing them now, not to mention when I’m 80!!!! Rock on Mamaw, and we’ll be having birthday cake again next year, no doubt.

CoolSis made me an Aunt yesterday!! No pics yet, but Mom, Dad and baby are all doing fine. My new niece is 8lb 7 oz, 21 inches long with black hair. We haven’t had a new baby in our family for 17 years, so we are all a little excited!!!

TJ has been sending me goodie packages, and I have much more fiber sitting than I can spin. The teal she sent is a dream to spin, I am loving it. Hope to be sending it out to BabySis for her to sell so we can buy more. Not that I’m greedy or anything. Also working on a pair of baby socks for the new niece, as well as a pair of socks for me. And more spinning.

Ok, that is all I can think of for now. Spring has sprung, but it is cold as hell this morning. I’m off to deslime after my night sweats.

“When I have a brand new hairdo
With my eyelashes all in curl,
I float as the clouds on air do,
I enjoy being a girl!” *
